Sales Manager

The Sales Manager will work closely with the General Manager & the Dispatch & Disputes Manager to continuously optimise and implement strategies that push the business forward. This position is responsible for leading and directing 1 full time direct report (Customer Service Rep).

 Key Responsibilities:

Manage all Company Customer Service

* Take responsibility and accountability for day to day running of our customer service
* Monitor all customer facing channels, including but not limited to our:

– Facebook Page Wall
– Facebook Group Wall
– Facebook Group Messenger
– Facebook Page Messenger
– Instagram Direct Messages
– Comments within Facebook Ads
– Phone calls

* Ensure all customers in the above channels are provided with the best customer experience possible & really embody our customer value proposition as ‘Your Friend in Fashion’
* Ability to build quick rapport with people from diverse age groups and backgrounds
* Work closely with the General Manager to set strategic direction & implement best practice response time, tone of voice and efficiencies, assisting in scaling our business
* Work to rectify any bad customer experiences & communicate this across to the General Manager to ensure frequent issues are ironed out with new policies
* Ensure area budgets are managed and costs are controlled, including but not limited to purchasing office supplies where required
* Ensure Dee’s Pop Up Shop customer service is consistently being improved, documenting new processes in training folders

Manage a Small Team

* Day to day management of one direct report: Customer Service Rep
* Evaluate business priorities & manage the team accordingly, ensuring the Customer Service Rep has a clear understanding of day to day tasks
* Ensuring the Customer Service Rep fulfils individual responsibilities to the best of their ability
* Mentoring & creating training material to ensure all direct reports are best equipped to handle job responsibilities
* Have regular 1×1 meetings with each direct report to ensure any issues are confidentially discussed and handled accordingly
* Set individual key performance indicators for each direct report & manage quarterly performance evaluations based on these indicators
* Keep the General Manager updated on the team’s performance
* Participation in recruitment and selection as well as ways to reward, motivate and recognise direct reports
* Provide potential solutions as problems arise within the team & discuss these with the General Manager if required
* Within peak periods, provide the team with assistance on tasks we are understaffed to complete.

Dispute Management

* Be able to stay calm under pressure when serious disputes come about & handle them with grace, ensuring the priorities of the business and individual are balanced accordingly
* Ability to think on your feet & make judgment calls on issues that do not have policies in place
* Work closely with the General Manager to put together a list of approved policies to execute day to day
* Develop a positive tone of voice that allows disputes to be turned into opportunities by going above and beyond where possible
* Working side by side with our Disputes & Dispatch Manager to ensure her policies are upheld wherever possible


* Chat to customers over the phone and on all our socials as Your Friend in Fashion, providing exceptional styling advice and customer assistance
* Ensuring all sales KPIs are met through creation of manual sales
* Providing instant feedback to Dee (buying) about styles that are in high demand
* Working closely with the marketing coordinators to ensure our sales tone of voice is seamless across all channels


* Work closely with the General Manager to consistently improve and optimise the way we complete every task, ensuring it is consistently being evaluated to be better, faster and smoother

To be successful in this role:

* A proven track record of exceeding sales targets
* An eye for fashion & eagerness to style and assist women of all ages and sizes (6-20)
* Demonstrated experience with meeting sales KPIs & managing a small team
* Well developed problem resolution and decision making skills
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* The ability to interact and motivate a diverse range of people
* Attention to retail and high procedural compliance
* A positive disposition, motivation and the ability to work in a team environment
* Proven ability to train and provide guidance to less experienced team members
* Ability to be cool under pressure and manage conflicting deadlines & priorities
* Takes responsibility and accountability for the sales service on all customer facing channels, providing realistic and actionable solutions
* Willing to stay on board for at least 2-3 years in this role & grow with the business

Do you want the opportunity to travel overseas, get to pick & design the latest trends for an eCommerce small business?  The Fashion Buyer/ Designer will report directly to the founder, Dee & work closely with the General Manager to really make their mark on our fast growing brand.  

Key Responsibilities:

* Weekly buying trips to local suppliers
Design and develop new styles for our Exclusive Range
Research local and international market design trends
Analyse and report on competitor pricing and product tactics
Analyse market trends, consumer preferences, sell through and seasonal demands to help formulate a development practice in line with business needs and consumer demands
Comprehensive market analysis to identify new category or product opportunities within the business
Forecasting and interpreting trends in our market
* The opportunity to attend sourcing trips in China and overseas seasonal buying trips
* Create garment sketch designs with measurements & construction details for sampling
Liaising with local & international suppliers for product development
Fitting sessions for samples and provide related fit change stretches
Responsible for sample approval to ensure product quality standards

To be successful in this role: 

* Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design
* Minimum 2 years buying/ design experience
Print/ graphic design experience is highly recognised
Forecasting experience: ability to run detailed reports, strong analytical skills, with a strong aptitude with numbers
Must have garment construction knowledge
Good time management
Ability to multitask
Proficient use of Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator & Microsoft office
